So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
As someone who leans toward fearfulness, I want to live as if these words are true. And to remember that the best things in life often reside on the other side of our fear.

I love this quote! I have been thinking a lot about fear in my life lately and how it sadly controls to many of my decisions.
Thank you for sharing this 😀

One of my favorite phrases to live by is “What would you do if you weren’t afraid?” I think this is the same sort of thing. Thanks for linking up to Pin It Tuesday! 🙂

Hi Katie – Yes, that’s a very good question to ask ourselves! I’m sad to say that I could come up with several answers quite easily.
Thanks.

So true. Back about 12 years ago, my family was going through a rough patch. A relative served us with papers trying to get custody of our two boys (who were about 4 and 3 at the time). The papers asked for custody between my MIL and my husband. I was barely mentioned except for the fact that I was the boys’ mother. At first, I was not even sure it was something my husband had engineered with his mother, or something into which he had been drawn…I didn’t know whose side he was on.
First, I contacted a lawyer. He said he would take the case for $400…TO START. I didn’t even have $400 total to give a lawyer at the time. Feeling defeated, I had just enough left in me to go to Legal Aid. After presenting my view of things and some facts, the lawyer said MIL didn’t have standing to bring the case, for one, and that there was no evidence the boys were in any kind of danger.
I walked into the office, scared and defeated. I /floated/ out of the office. While earlier that morning, it had been difficult to put one foot in front of the other, I did it…time and time again. That afternoon, I’m pretty sure I skipped through the parking lot.
There are few time in my life, if any, when I have felt more empowered.

Thanks for sharing, LuAnn. You must have been terrified – I would have been. I’m thankful that you were able to get the help you needed, and that the situation worked out for you.

Thanks. I am prone to fear too, and this verse encourages me.

What an important biblical quote. How often I’ve needed it when I’ve been fearful.
GC says
Thanks Nothy – I have needed it many times too.
