I don’t know about you, but I don’t spend much time sitting around and talking about sex with other married women. Some women probably do that, but I’m not one of them. It just doesn’t come up in conversations with the women I know, and I’m not sure what would happen if I brought it up. And, to be honest, I’m not even sure I want to bring it up.
Yes, I do have some marriage blogger friends who are more than willing to talk with me about sex. But I’m thinking of conversations with the women you and I encounter in our daily lives – in our families, neighborhoods, churches and jobs. It’s just not a topic that comes up in day-to-day conversation.
But sometimes I wish it would, don’t you? Because sex and intimacy in marriage can get complicated at times, and sometimes we’d like another woman’s opinion. Or we’d like to know about something she’s learned, or figured out through trial and error. But bringing it up isn’t easy.
That’s why I’m excited to tell you about a podcast that’s set to launch on February 14 – Sex Chat for Christian Wives. It will be a conversation among four marriage bloggers – J of Hot, Holy and Humorous, Bonny of Oyster Bed 7, Chris of The Forgiven Wife, and me. Our goal is to talk like four friends sitting around the kitchen table (albeit the online version of the kitchen table!) about sex and intimacy topics of interest to married women. We’re planning to have the conversations you or I might like to have with our friends, but aren’t quite sure how to get started.
We’ll be talking about topics such as getting in the mood for sex, effects of stress on sex, positions, low libido, health and sex, and many others. We’ve already recorded the first three episodes and will be recording more this month. (The picture below shows what it looks like when we’re sitting around the “kitchen table” known as Skype and recording an episode!)
I’d love for you to visit the Web site for the podcast – Sex Chat for Christian Wives – and follow us on Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter.
